Maria Tarrant

Maria has held executive leadership roles in relation to education, infrastructure and energy within both the private and public sectors and on Boards and advisory committees. She now applies the expertise gained in a range of consultancies for clients in the private, public and not for profit sectors.

Maria’s education expertise spans schools, vocational education and training and higher education and includes policy and program review and stakeholder engagement. She is a trusted business partner who thrives on challenge and excels at consultation, solutions development and change management, underpinned by a genuine desire to provide a sound return on investment.

Maria worked for over a decade with Australia’s leading CEOs at the Business Council of Australia, including 4 years as Deputy Chief Executive. Maria worked closely with BCA members on key education and training issues that affected participation in education and training and employment. Of particular importance was the work she led on impacts of early school leaving, developing an employability skills framework and consulting with BCA members on work readiness expectations of employers. Maria was also a member of review panel for the Ministerial inquiry into vocational education and training in Victoria 2006.
